The Vermont International Film Festival is pleased to announce that the 2010 Vermont Filmmakers’ Showcase Call For Entries is now open! The Vermont Filmmakers’ Showcase is the largest and oldest presentation of Vermont-made films in the state and offers Vermont filmmakers an opportunity to screen their films in a cinematic environment and to network with filmmakers and film audiences.

If you haven’t heard already, there is a new film project underway titled “Freedom & Unity: The Vermont Movie,” it’s the brainchild of award-winning filmmaker and Norwich resident Nora Jacobson.  It’s a documentary about Vermont, its people, its history and its independent spirit.  This film will cover a wide range of historical and contemporary ideas.

Vermont's Office of the Chief Marketing Officer uses a system of "prequalified marketing vendors" in awarding state marketing contracts.  Prequalified vendors may also request to be notified of state contracts put out to bid as they arise.   Being a pre-qualified will also help streamline the process of securing state marketing contracts as they become available.

Vermont nonconformists cast as extras in new Ang Lee film about Woodstock

Some people contend that if you claim to remember the 1960s, you weren’t actually there.

No matter. Ang Lee, who won an Oscar in 2006 for directing “Brokeback Mountain,” plans to resurrect the counterculture haze with a new motion picture.
